• Rev. Dr. Sanchita Kisku, Senior Pastor

    PASTOR OF CARE + OUTREACH

    Rev. Dr. Sanchita Kisku is a Missiologist in feminist-womanist and cultural anthropological studies. She taught World Christianity and Mission in India for three years. As an Indigenous women representative, she served the central committee of the World Council of Churches (2006-2011). She challenges through her academic and public presentations as of how in a multicultural context many indigenous women are expected to perform the traditional gender roles that are prescribed by the patriarchal society. Rev. Kisku is a Global Mission Scholar and Ruth Rossing Foundation Scholar who earned her Ph.D. in the area of World Christianity and Global Mission from Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, 2014. Her doctoral research is The Indigenous Santal Christian Women: Retrieving our cultural past and constructing an Egalitarian Theology for the Indigenous church in India. Rev. Kisku also has rich experience in the area of Clinical Pastoral Education and currently engaged to pursue Supervisory education. Rev. Kisku has a passion to provide pastoral care and counseling for the vulnerable, those who are suffering pain and chronic ailment.

    Amy Lehman joined the First Baptist Church staff in June 2019. She can be found in the front office juggling multiple tasks! Amy is committed to serving the church and the downtown community. She is also passionate about environmental issues. You may find her enjoying the outdoors on the weekend.

    Junior loves to take care, clean, and maintain this historic church. He has provided security for the last 10 years and will happily do so for as long as he’s needed.
