Weekend Worship

Sunday Service | 10:30am
We worship every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. in a sanctuary that is a 185 years old - the oldest public building of Kalamazoo! With such a rich history, our worship style also spans the test of time, with music from the 21st century to the 7th century.
Our pastors’ messages (about 25mins or so) each week don’t give simple answers to complex issues. Instead, messages help us see things in a different light, gaining a new perspective on who God is, who we are, and how we are to live.
Our services last about an hour, and we hope you’ll stay after for refreshments and time together!

Things to know...
First, all are welcome at First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo.
You have a place here.Attire: Casual clothing is always acceptable, though some of our members still like to wear their “Sunday best.” You come as you feel most comfortable!
Worship Style: Our style might be described as traditional, but never stuffy. On most Sundays, we join in responsive readings and prayers including “The Lord’s Prayer.” We generally sing the Gloria Patri and the Doxology. Those who have grown up in the church will find themselves right at home; those who are new will quickly catch on and appreciate the way in which these traditions help us focus our thoughts on God. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and all are invited to participate.

Families & Children
Early in the service, children of all ages are invited to join the pastor at the front for a special message. Afterward, preschool children may go to the nursery while children in grades K-6 are invited to attend our Sunday School.
We want every family to know that their children are in a safe and secure environment at all times, so child care policies are a core aspect of our children’s ministry. Feel free to contact us for more information, or connect with us upon arrival so we can show you where to go!

Parking
We hope finding First Baptist and parking is easy for all who desire to attend - we’re located right downtown on the corner of W. Michigan and Church Street.
Meter parking downtown is free on Sunday.
First National Bank of Michigan and Old National Bank on the north side of W. Michigan Avenue have also graciously offered the use of their parking lots on Sunday mornings.
